Client Evaluations

There is no doubt majority of medical students all through the globe use this book. And I do consider it is incredibly informative. But you have to be prepared to devote a lot of time reading it, primarily if this is the only book you strategy on using in pathology. Because it takes a lot of time to comb through the substantial quantity of information in this book to choose out what is critical for medical students to bear in mind. So I would advocate most medical students to also order Rapid Overview Pathology: With STUDENT CONSULT On-line Access for the reason that it is much additional clinically oriented and also offers you the pathophysiology behind the symptoms which Robbins does not. I also really feel that though Robbins does a really good job mentioning the signs and symptoms in a concise manner, it could do a lot improved integrating the symptoms with the pathology. So I would use this book as a reference book in the truest sense. Meaning I would get a brief concept of the subject from Rapid Overview or some other supply and then read Robbins if you have time. But for specific items you will almost certainly have to go directly to Robbins. For example, Robbins does a outstanding job with the morphology, which is some what lacking in most review books like Rapid Overview and BRS. I would decide to buy the book only if you have a beneficial quantity of time to understand the subject or just actually like pathology. But i would NOT shop for it if you are
1. seeking for a rapid critique, ie just before step 1 (because honestly most of info in this book wont support there)
two. if you dont have a lot of time to focus solely on pathology and this book. Due to the fact as I said it will take time for you to read by means of all the info and pick out essential points that you desire to understand. And on top rated of that to be able to do this, you will first have to get use to the writing style of this book which is rather several. (regularly study based)
As for difference in between 7th and 8th editions. I personally dont consider there is that significantly of a difference. The authors mention extensively redoing the first chapter and third. But other than that I feel its mostly reorganizing and generating it look even more pleasing. ie cut from here and paste there. So I dont assume its worth getting 8th if you have the 7th. And if you are honestly tight on money I would invest in the 7th. I genuinely don't consider they have altered the information at all specially in systemic pathology.

This book has every thing it takes to be thought of a genuinely fantastic book. Even though the text is quite dense, you can conveniently understand it. The subjects are thoroughly explained, and there is normally a great scheme to assist fully grasp them. Overall a particularly decent pathology book, which I am happy to have.
